The Resurrection
Two men in garments appeared to Mary Magdalene, Salome, and Mary, the mother of
James, when they went to Jesus’ tomb, and said,” Why do you look for the living
among the dead? He is not here, but he has been raised.” When they left the tomb
they went and told the eleven others, but they did not believe it. Peter then
ran to the tomb and saw the burial clothes lying there; then he went home,
shocked at what he has just seen.

The Ascension
Before Jesus ascended into heaven he told his apostles that he would send
the Holy Spirit to them. As Jesus ascended into heaven, two angels appeared next
to the apostles and said to them that Jesus has ascended into heaven but would
return in the same way he left.

The Descent of the Holy Spirit
When the day of the Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. “Then a
noise like rushing wind came from the heavens, it filled the whole house where
they were sitting.’’ The Holy Spirit came to the disciples in the tongues of
fire. The Holy Spirit rested on every one of them and enabled the disciples to
speak with other languages to understand each other.
